Ocean Drums, in contrast to regular hand drums, have both sides of the drum covered, and contain small spherical beads made of metal plastic, or pebbles. The Ocean Drum gets its name from the way it sounds. Ocean drums mimic the sound of waves, similar to the way rain sticks sound like rain. They are thought to originate from Native American water drums, which were clay drums containing a wide variety of water inside them.  These drums can be therapeutic as the sound emitted from them when you move the drum back and forth is gentle and pleasing. If you go slowly, it sounds like gentle rolling waves, but if you go fast, it sounds like giant crashing waves. They are a great tool for education, therapy, sound healing sessions, and recreation.
