These wooden percussion instruments, also known as Maracas, come from Africa originally but are commonly used in Spanish speaking countries throughout the world. The original african instruments were traditionally made with hollow gourds, but ours are made from Bamboo with an intricate Alpaca design. These shakers are meant to be played as a pair, gently shaking it in each hand with a rhythmic pattern. They are great for beginners and children, with how easy they are to use. Because they are made from bamboo, it is ideal to store in a dry place and not get the Shakers wet for prolonged periods of time, to prevent the wood from splitting.
