Description

Tibetan Buddhist Practitioners use Tingsha in prayer, rituals, & healing purposes. This religious instrument can be traced back to ancient Tibet, meaning their usage has persisted over hundreds of years. Examples of the alloy of metals used can include: copper, bronze, or brass. Tingsha bells are primarily used for ceremonies, as the ringing of the tingshas is used to clear the space of any negative energy before the ceremony begins. Depending on the ceremony, they may be periodically struck throughout to remind the listeners to be mindful in their meditation. The sound reverberated from the tingsha is said to reach even the heavens. Because of this, those who play the tingsha invoke the blessings of the divine beings who reside in the spiritual realm.

These Tingshas are made out of 5 (regular) or 7 (practitioner) metals and are available in regular style or practitioner style. Our Regular Tingshas come in two sizes: Small (2.25” Diameter), and Medium (2.50” Diameter). Our Practitioner Tinghas are 2.75” in diameter. For this variety of Tingshas, we have a few designs available: Aum (Regular only), Om Mani Padme Hum, and 8 Auspicious symbols.

Additionally we have a Recycled Antique Tingsha with a Brocade Tingsha cover in 3.5” diameter (SILVER), and 3.0” (BLACK or SILVER), and Finger Cymbals (2.5” Diameter) that are gold colored.
