This flute provides an interesting twist to modern day flute playing, but the category of wind instrument is ancient: over 6000 years old in fact. Our Double Drone Flute is in the traditional Native American style, making a triangular shape with a signature block towards the mouthpieces carved into the shape of a bird. The Native American Style of flute is often recognized as a “tool of healing”, because playing music (or even just listening) is soothing to the mind, and enriches the brain. Connected through a single duct, one side plays the base note consistently, and the other plays the melody you perform. It is also possible to play one side at a time. It is made out of wood and has 5 keyholes, excluding the drone side. Flutes that are wooden, not only tend to be easier to learn, but are more cost friendly and easy to maintain. These flutes should be stored in a dry place, as prolonged exposure to water can cause water damage to any wooden object.
